  • Scotties Knockout

    Hi guys,
Just blowing my own trumpet with this thread. Well last night, I played my 1/4 final match in our annual knockout. I'm so delighted I won 3-2. I only have to win the semi-final and my name will forever be on the champions board as they also name the runner up. That is my ultimate aim so my son can see it for ever more.
On another subject, Geoff Scott (owner) and Neil Johnson (resident pro and coach) have decided to introduce a new junior handicap tournament. They have asked my permission to name it "The Fred England Memorial Trophy". I was totally blown away and hugely honoured. I am a huge fan of our Saturday morning kids club and often help out with new players and the "60 second challenge". Kids are the future of our sport so to see our club rammed every Saturday morning is just brilliant. Neil was rather embarrassed when he asked me as "memorial" suggests that someone is deceased!! Lol....Due to the rapid spread of the cancer in my body I've told him not to worry as when its due to be played in April/May next year it will likely be the correct engraving on the trophy. The tournament will be open to any junior under 16 years of age. I feel blessed that my love of snooker is being recognised in this way and I'm sure that my son will be very proud to see my name remembered for ever more.
You may defeat me but I will fight you to the very end!!!!

I'm just overwhelmed Dean. Proud is the understatement of the year. The tournament will be open to non members and they are hoping to get a good turnout from players from all over! I'm sure if I cannot, Stevie will post details of the tournament on here for you guys to maybe bring your little ones for a knock.

Tell you what Fred, give yourself a target of still being around at the first event just to embarrass Neil off for a laugh
My mum had several targets and she managed to meet them
