            Go get 'em Terry!

                  Les

Jason was knocked out in the round robin stages as he had a couple of young hotshot in his group. Paul and I won our last 32 matches and believe me Alain and I both played very well but in frame 7 I played a snooker on the last red with the red in the Dark and cueball frozen right behind the black. He made a great hit but left me a pot and I ran down to the pink to win making a great shot on the blue up the side cushion to the yellow pocket and getting good a straight-in pink to win..

Today I play the #1 seed, Jamie Bodle front England who hasn't lost a frame yet and Paul plays the favorite Darren Morgan who somehow lost 1 frame so far (I'm sure Darren is disappointed).

They are streaming tables 1 and 2 but I don't know yet what table I'm on as all 20 tables will be used. Yesterday I played Alain on table 20.

Well, as I thought I lost 4-0 and my excuse is I went into the match with the wrong attitude, negative in I was thinking I would lose. I also got a chill and couldn't get my hands warm. If I would have played the way I did yesterday I could have given him a tough match although he dogged a yellow for a 113 break and had two 70's and a 60, but I messed up every opportunity he gave me.

I also bought a new stroke analysis tool from Nic Barrow which shows exactly what a player's tip is doing and it showed me my backswing is too fast and short, my deliver is too abrupt or acceleration is too rapid and also I'm not leaving my cue extended and still at the end of the delivery. It also showed me I am already feathering before my bridge hand hits the table. It's a graph thing showing tip movement against time. I think it is a really good tool but when he releases it the cost will be 500pounds, so meant for coaches but I'll be using it a lot for myself.

Hi Terry I followed both yours and Paul's matches from start to finish and both of you had tough matches. Still great to see you get into the knock out rounds. Congratulations. I will be interested to see this new teaching tool. Have a safe trip home and we will talk next week. I am off to Toronto tomorrow for Qualifier 5 and hope that I can win a few games. I have been spending hours practicing but everyone that comes in still says my table it too tough. I think it is time to pull things a part and put some washers behind the rails.

I agree with you, so thanks go to all my supporters. I'm staying until the end as I would like to see the men's finals. The masters will likely be Darren Morgan and the women's finals could be a toss-up, just like the men.

It will be in Bangalore next year and the Indians always host good ones.

Sorry now I went into my last match with a negative attitude. If I could have played like I did in the previous match I know I would have done better. Not saying I might have won but for sure I would have been more of a challenge for Jamie.

But still, not bad for my age I think.

i guess you can have some contempt seeing as you talk to us more than you do your misses..
Anyway, maybe you could share what you did different this time? What you changed and what your working on?

Talk to the missus twice a day but on here once a day.

As for what I did to play a lot better it was really a few things combined, however the most important was really concentrating on accelerating through the cueball (I have the very bad habit of stopping the cue early). I achieved this by relaxing the grip (a lot) and always trying to hit the object ball with the tip.

In addition I was staying very still on the shot and leaving my cue extended at the end of the delivery. If I did this consistently I believe I would be a better player so I'll be working on these hard over the next year.
