Etiquette in local league snooker

If somebody is behaving like this you need to play them at their own game , cheer when you get a fluke and tell him how bad he is wen he misses , then when you beat him tell him he needs more practise when you shake his hand.

Snooker is supposed to be a gentlemens game you should not have to grow a set as you put it I was at this game shocking behaviour by the player in question ....this player is an ex pool player it is the norm in that game to do this they don't understand it shouldn't happen in snooker that's the problem but your comment doesn't help anything this is a forum about snooker discussing these things finding out what other leagues or players do about this unacceptable behaviour

Its a forum for whinging online (after you've lost) about something you did nothing about in person and at the time when you had the opportunity. Isn't it?
As for what other players/leagues would do - probably speak to the player at the time. You can't complain about something after the game, we have a rule in our local league that any disputes or objections must be made at the time the occur, for the very reason that anything said afterwards is going to be seen as sour grapes if the player who may have been "wronged" has lost.

you get people like that who will try underhand stuff to win, you just have to ignore it and keep doing your own thing, once you show its got to you, you have lost it and most of the time the game as well.

if he had won the frame he is whinging about would the post be up on here about it? i would bet heavily on it not being.

So are you saying we should put up with it? What can i do if the ref wont do anything about it, i moaned to him about his behaviour but he carried on. Next time it happens i will just spark the opponent out.

He should not just have to ignore it, it's blatant cheatin and if the the ref won't do anything then martj report him to your commitee...

if your not at the table you should be quiet and show your opponent respect whilst he's on his shots, what don't people understand about that

The league only works because most people enjoy a game and play properly. If everyone just started walking around and being abusive and banging the table, talking on their opponents shot, it would be chaotic.

That's the same with everything in life. Society only works because most people don't act like idiots.

I know mate, which is exactly why i restrained myself from having a proper outburst as this is how it would of ended up no doubt. Thats why i'm having a rant about it on here but some people seem to think thats wrong.

he knows a way to get to you, you have to learn not to let it get to you.

if it was that bad at the time why not have a word then? as you didnt then the leauge will do sod all and see it as sour grapes as you did nothing during the frame at the time.

Mate is there a specsavers near you? I said i had a word with the ref and he said he couldn't say anything to him, i also told him he was bang out of order with his behaviour but he continued. What else can i do? The next step would of been me flattening him which would of done me no good and got me banned so i controlled myself and got on with it so how is it sour grapes am i just meant to not say anything and let cheats prosper? You're more than welcome to come and have a game with me and i'll do all those things while you are playing then see you "grow some". ********.
