IT’S an all East of England final for the green baize biathlon.
Boston’s Chris Taylor takes on former champion Phil Mumford, from Bury St Edmunds, in June for the title of the EASB (English Association of Snooker & Billiards) Combined Cue Sports Champion.
The pair progressed through the last-16 knockout stage at Grantham Snooker & Pool Club, Lincs.
Matches consisted of four frames of snooker and two games of 100-up billiards.
Taylor, whose snooker was on a par with his billiards prowess, accounted for Liam Crossling-Kelly and Phil Hartley, both with a frame to spare.
He then cleared the colours in the final frame of snooker to edge Darren Cook 439-435 in an epic last-four encounter.
Meanwhile, heavy scoring took Mumford, champion in 2012 and runner-up last year, past Mark Hill, Andrew Draper and Adam Clarke.
Mumford and Taylor meet during the EASB Finals Weekend on June 7-8 at the Northern Snooker Centre, Leeds.
