HARTLEPOOL ace Darren Cook says he’s feeling “confident” ahead of the English Six-Reds Snooker Championship final.
But the 22-year-old will be up against a player who was “not putting a foot wrong”, according to his semi-final opponent.
Jake Nicholson (Flamborough, East Yorkshire) and Cook progressed through the last-16 knockout stage of the shortened game at the Northern Snooker Centre, Leeds.
Cook said: “I’m very pleased to have reached the final. I played some good snooker all day.
“One more game to go and I’m feeling very confident.
Nicholson wrapped up a 5-0 last-four victory over Russell Morgan (Bradford) by not conceding a single point in the last three frames.
Shaun Wilkes (Barnsley) and Anthony Massey (Leeds) both compiled the day’s top breaks of 67.
The best-of-11 frame final will be at the Northern Snooker Centre during the weekend of June 7-8.
