Bloody brilliant Terry!!!, go and have a great tourney .
How did the frames go Terry?, was it tight all the way, or was there a comeback.
I went up 2-0, then it went 2-2, then 3-2 for me, and then 3-3. In the last frame I cleared up and had over 40 points on the last red and once I potted that he conceded.
Weirdly enough I had offered to split the money so we could both go and have our expenses partially covered (at least the flight) but he refused the offer. My suspicion was he might have seen that as me thinking I wouldn't win so I was trying to salvage something but it turned out he had been told by 'she who must be obeyed' that he could only go if he had all of his expenses covered. That's probably right since he is quite a bit younger than me and has a young family so I imagine he is not one of the 'idle rich' like me (I wish!).
I am quite chuffed because as Wayne said above, Phil Snache is one of the better players in Canada. He had made the semis of the Canadians the same as myself and he lost to Floyd Zeigler (our 'almost pro' from last season) while I lost to the eventual winner, Alan Whitfield who is also going to India for the Worlds.
Right now it appears as if the 'Canadian Team' will be just Alan and myself, one in the men's and one in the Master's. For someone else to play they would have to first be approved by our Association and then come up with around $3K (about 1,800GBP) and of course be able to take 2 weeks off work and family responsibilities which is not an easy thing to do
