THREE Lincoln cueman have qualified for the last-16 of a national snooker competition.
Dale Schofield will be joined by doubles partners Matt Lee and Geoff Bowen for the final stages of the English Six-Reds Championship in January.
Stoke’s Graham Beardmore and Ronnie Kralj, from Northampton, completed the quintet who progressed from the Midlands qualifier at The Winchester, near Leicester.
Beardmore finished runner-up in his group despite getting off to a flying start with a 3-1 victory over Lee, the 2013 champion.
Lee finally kicked into form after trailing Cannock-based Riley Parsons 2-0 in his next match. He won 3-2 and remained undefeated for the rest of the day.
Schofield - who compiled the highest break of the day, a 66 in a 3-2 defeat by Bowen - said: “It was a great venue.
“The short format made it quite competitive. The lads who played were friendly and I really enjoyed it.”
Kralj booked his spot in the last-16 by finishing as the best third-placed player.
The last-16 stage will be hosted by Barretts Club, Northampton, on Saturday, January 31, 2015.
