How does one actually get onto or into the PIOS competitions. Having read the global snooker centre it says you have to e-mail to get a pack but I wondered if there were any requirements. I have no plans really to enter it in the near future although one day I may have a go on it if I have nothing better to do (if its that simple) but does anyone here play on it or have any ideas about joining it?

    Thanks

I guess you might also have to pay for your accomodation at Pontins. I'm sure you could easily end up out of pocket if you dont do well in these tournaments. I think even the winners only get 1 or 2 thousand at the most, so obviously all the others entrants are only going to get a very small slice of the pie.

I think it was £900 to enter. I obviously wont enter it but it would be soemthing I may do in later life when or if I have lots of money. lol

You might get to play against Mike Hallet. He never seems to give up. It looks as though he is going to stay on as long as he is physically able to.

Tony Knowles seems to have finally disappeared though after sticking around for about 20 years. Jimmy White may make up for that though as he may be there in the future if his love of snooker is all that he says it is.

I doubt I will enter this season but I will consider it for the 2008/09 season if its still on. Also me and a mate of mine mite enter the World Pro-Am series to see what the competition is like and we may get to play against one of the pros. However saying that I don't have a cue at the moment so that may have to be missed.

Hmm, I never realised it was that easy to join up! Is there no 'Quality Check' then?

Otherwise some rich fella with nowt better to do could sign up, get hammered in every match, but still get an official WSA PIOS ranking to boast to his friends about!

                    Somebody already has!

Knut Pedersen played on this season's PIOS and only won one match throughout the entire campaign. He's a Norwegian businessman who is sponsoring Kurt Maflin.

I think Maflin actually got to play Pedersen in one of the events - you can probably guess who won.

could you imagine the impact if say Jimmy decided to play in Pios when he drops off the main tour?

I can see a lot of rich snooker fans paying their fees in the hope of drawing him in round one.

I think player wuld ratha draw Jimmy in the Final!!

I read story in paper in plymouth that two of the players Mat Williams and Paul Veitch are playing a marathon and chalenge matches to raise their entry money for 07/8 pios.

                            very enterprising.
