SOUTHEND snooker star Sydney Wilson is hoping it will be fourth time lucky in the English Amateur Championship.
Wilson, who has lost in the southern semi-finals for the past two seasons and made a quarter-final exit the previous year, booked a place in the last-16 south, along with Grant Miles (Norwich), via the Eastern qualifier at Chelmsford Snooker Club.
In his third-round match against Sam Betts, Wilson missed a tricky pink on a break of 90.
The next stage is at The Crucible Sports & Social Club, Newbury, on the weekend of April 11-12.
