OLDHAM’S Michael Wild has earned himself two shots at making a sensational return to the professional circuit at the age of 34.
Wild won the sixth and final leg of the national English Ranking Series to secure top spot.
And that means he will be invited to the IBSF World Championship and the EBSA European Championship, both of which usually carry two-year tour cards for the winner.
Wild, who spent the 2003/04 season as a professional, pocketed £400 after beating Eden Sharav (Gloucester) 5-3 from 2-0 and 3-2 down in the final at Cueball Derby.
Many regarded the second-round clash between Nick Jennings and Brandon Sargeant as the match of the weekend.
Jennings (Chandler’s Ford) won three frames with breaks of 62, 59 and 57. Sargeant (Stoke) won three frames with runs of 103, 108 and 89 - and edged the decider. The 108 earned him the £50 high-break prize.
