GREENBAIZE has announced details of the latest in its line of popular Summer Classic tournaments.
On Sunday, August 9, the Bournemouth club is hosting an event for players aged 21 and under. And on Sunday, August 23, there’s an open tournament.
The junior competition is a best-of-three frame knockout with a best-of-five final. First-round losers can enter a one-frame plate competition.
Entry fee is £10. There are trophies for the winner, runner-up and main comp high break. Prize money will depend on the number of entries.
The club will open at 9am. Deadline for entries is 9.45am on the day. The draw will take place at 10am.
Players who look 21 are asked to bring identification.
A fortnight later, the open event will be restricted to the first 32 players to have paid £20 and left a contact phone number with the club by 7pm on Saturday, August 22, ie, the evening before.
The draw takes place that night and players will be contacted with a start time, which will be either 10am or 11am.
Again, it’s a straight knockout for trophies and prize money but all matches will be best-of-fives and, again, first-round losers can enter a one-frame plate competition.
Both tournaments are off scratch and there is no dress code.
Greenbaize is at 256 Wallisdown Rd, Bournemouth, Dorset, BH10 4HZ. Its phone number is 01202 525061.
