Why not ask them for £15 and let them wear what the hell they want instead of them having to pay "20 for what is probably worth only a fiver.

I watched a few of the matches when Cumbria had a team in, it looked very smart both teams in their shirts, it's nice to keep a bit of dress decorum.
This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

Whys that then is that your little earner?

Naff all to do with being tight just don't like to see "officials" laying down pointless little rules so they can make a few bob out of it for themselves. If the profit were to go to some good cause fair enough.

This thread has nothing to do with you so zip it. The commercial company sell the shirts not the organisation. Try and read ****wit. If this snooker org has a dress code, it has a dress code, that's their business. Their members can take pride from wearing it. We don't all want to dress in scruffs and go to Iceland to spend DLA mate.

Oh please ask Santa for a new brain for xmas Splash.

This organisation has a dress code. Okay ask yourself why? They can insist on smart white shirts whatever but no instead members must buy a £20 polo shirt from craft signs. Who do you think places the order to make the damn things in the first place? Your Milkman?
I imagine craft signs buy them in for what £2 ? Embroider/print a Notts County logo on them at say £1.00 add their cut lets say £2 which totals £5.00 They then have a customer buy one (who must) for £20 and give the actual guy who ordered them his £15 rake.

Like I said it's a nice little earner for someone all i'd like ask is who? the county who puts it to good use for the members, a charity perhaps, or for the scumbag pocketing it for his own beer money.

I have to say I agree here...

Playing county is normally dress code / smart attire. I've never heard of a player being told to buy a specific shirt from a specific retailer.

It does sound like a bit of bunce is going into a pocket here. Even the official EASB shirts don't cost 20 notes.

But.... i do like Master Splashers cordial tone - yam-yam land lol

Both pool and snooker teams I have seen come to the club have always had " strips" on. When the inter county pools on the place can be busy and for nothing but you know who's on your side, it's a handy thing, don't know who's ripping who off and not bothered but the principle of home and away kits is a good one to me.

Sorry to upset a few of you but no1 makes any money from the county polo shirts. That's the only thing the players contribute towards other than £5 per man on home games which is for a hot & cold buffet which feeds both teams & officials. Before you go banging on. Read the following.... The registration fee for both teams is sponsored by our local league, the NBSA. Money from other sponsors (who's logos we wear) is being used this season to buy enough sets of Aramith 1G balls. Previous money raised from sponsors & money I raised at my snooker exhibitions all went into buying new luminaire lights for the 8 County tables we use. All those tables have very recently been re-blocked, re-rubbered & had new 4 Hainsworth & 2x 6811 Strachan TG & 2x 6811 Strachan No.10 cloths on. That is a very expensive job which the owner has paid for. Obviously his club members will benefit too but the agreement I had with him at over 2 years ago is that the tables we use will be kept up to a very good standard. Finally we are there.
So if any of you think that anyone is 'pocketing it for his own beer money' is completely deluded. If you fancy coming along on the 18th you will be made very welcome & you will be able to see for yourself all the hard work that's been going on for over 2 years.
Finally I didn't realise I had to explain things to some dim wit people.

Cheers itsnoteasy, we're getting there. As they same, Rome wasn't built in a day. We have 4 very nice steel blocked match tables. 3 of them are cut to 3 & 1/2 inch openings & 1 is 3 & 3/8. These 4 tables have the 6811 Strachan cloths on. The other 4 we use are more generous & have 3 & 5/8 inch openings. All 8 have new rests, spiders etc etc & have the luminaire lights too. Rest of the 6 tables in the club have just been re-clothed too. They'll be getting re-blocked & re-rubbered next year. These 6 tables have pockets like dinner plates! You have to cater for the average Joe Bloggs who can't pot a ball. So in theory members should progress from 'buckets' to fairly tight pockets. In total there are 14 snooker tables & about 14 English pool tables in the pool hall. 2 American pool tables in a smaller room upstairs.
I must stress that I don't work at the club, I'm just a club player who plays for the team in the NBSA & have a passion for snooker. I do run Notts County snooker from there though & get ABSOLUTELY NO financial reward from it. Unlike what some key board warriors on here are suggesting.

What's it like playing on the 3 1/3 rd cut pockets compared to the 3 1/2 is it a really big difference? Ours are 3 1/2 always wondered what it's like, sounds tough.

You didn't have to explain anything, to some of us. To others, they still won't understand your explanation. Some of us have organised events and teams and understand the costs of these things. I had some polos printed up and that came to £13 a shirt, embroidery would have been more. Companies don't do these things for free and in small batches, the cost of each shirt rises. Next up, a couple of folk who have nothing to do with this county (!) will criticise the £5 buffet fee, arguing a bag of chips can be had for £2. Just wait........
