  • Snooker League Season

My Snooker League season starts very soon.

I will be playing in the Premier League which is the 2nd highest division.

The team that I will be part of has won every division that it has played in and is hoping for promotion to the Super with my help.

What leagues do other members play in? Divisions??

    Hi Stunrunthru,

I've been playing in the Coventry District Snooker League (http://www.cdsl.org.uk) for the last 6 years. We have 2 teams; a Div 4 (ex-Div 3) team which a playing for now and again when they are short and a Div 5 team.

Last season we had a very strong div 5 team and only missed promotion by a couple of points.

Hope to make it this year :-)

This is my first ever season playing competitive snooker. I'm playing in the Chesterfield and District Sovereign League Div 6. As of today (28th) I've won 6 out of 6 and the team has won 4 out of 6.

I'm still 100% for this season, 8 out of 8, with our team winning 6 out of 8. Although I am starting to struggle, confidence slipping, having a lot of problems sighting certain shots

Our team is currently 3rd in our division. It is so tight at the moment that we were 4th from bottom last week but then won our match 4-0 taking us up to 3rd.

            We have played 4 and have a record of W1 D1 L2.

I have won 3 out of my 4 matches and I am joint highest break scorer at the moment with 34. However I'm sure someone will better that.

I won my league doubles quarter final this evening.

Myself and my doubles partner were playing a chap who a few years ago was a 100+ break player who was partnered by another chap who wasn't that good to be fair.

We lost the first frame to a break of 35. In the second we pinched it on the pink. I made a good clearance under pressure from last red to pink to win it - finishing on a cross double on the pink, leaving the white safe had I missed it.

In the final frame my doubles partner had a break of 28 and they needed snookers by the time there was one red left.

                  Thoroughly enjoyable game.

Anyway I was practising at the weekend and in three frames had breaks of 44 and 2 30+s which is quite good considering I only play once a week. I could not pot any long balls though.

However tonight I had no significant breaks but pot some great long balls under pressure.

Has that ever happened to anyone? Who do you explain it.

We re-start our season after christmas on Tuesday. I've won 13 out of 13, we're through to the quarter finals of the cup. All in our first season, it's far too exciting!
I'm having coaching, break buildings on the up, I'm just loving snooker!

Our season has begun again too after xmas now. Our first match this year is not for a couple of weeks though and I play my doubles semi final this month.

I still practice every saturday and feel I'm playing quite well but nowhere near my best. But enjoying it and that's the most important thing to me.
