THREE-time women’s world billiards champion Emma Bonney heads to Kings Lynn on Sunday to take on Austrian Karin Wannemacher in the English Ladies Open Billiards Championship.
The World Ladies Billiards & Snooker Association (WLBSA) sanctioned ranking event kicks off at 11am at The Maltings Cue Club.
Philip Welham, English Amateur Billiards Association (EABA) regional coach and chairman of the EABA Junior Committee, will be tournament director.
‘Queen of the South’ Bonney, from Portsmouth, beat former Swedish pool star Eva Palmius 216-119 in the final to claim a third WLBSA world title in Cambridge in May.
The world number one faces world number nine Wannemacher, Austrian women’s snooker champion in 2006 and 2007, in a round-robin format.
Also due to appear are 15-year-old Joanne Davies, from Derby, and Kings Lynn 13-year-old Beau Elliott, who is 17th on the EABA junior rankings.
