Not long now until the German Open.(30-09-05/03-10-05)
This is one tournament that has got everyone buzzing in Germany.
Unlike many countries where snooker is an established sport, snooker is kicking of big time in countries like Germany and Poland.
Eurosport have been baffling TV experts with the viewing figures snooker has been attracting in these countries. Over the past 3 years they have recorded a consistent 33% viewer increase for each season.
The German Open is a further big step in cementing the continuing growing interest of snooker in Germany, and the organizers of this tournament could not have done it in better style.
They have managed to compile an impressive list of professional players to take part in this event, mainly requested by users from the German snookerforum, and there are still players being added in the run up of this event. The event has attracted around 160 amateurs and professionals from across europe, and was completely sold out within 7 hours of tickets going on sale. The additional seating arrangement went directly to a 150 strong waiting list.
