What will Katie do next?
WORLD number three Katie Henrick heads to Cambridge Snooker Centre on Saturday hoping to defend the East Anglian Championship.
The Kent-based 27-year-old, who beat June Banks 3-1 in the final last year to claim a first ever tournament win, joins a 19-strong field at the second event of the World Ladies Billiards & Snooker Association’s 2008/09 season.
Four-time world champion Reanne Evans won the first event, the UK Championship in Derbyshire last month.
Ronnie O’Sullivan’s cousin Maria Catalano, who lost to Evans in the UK final, is chasing a sixth title.
Three-time world billiards champion Emma Bonney travels up from Portsmouth bidding for a second snooker title. She beat Banks 3-2 to clinch the South Coast Classic at Eastbourne in February this year.
Banks, who lost to Evans in the world championship final in May, makes a first start of the season.
Naomi Clare, from Ripley, Derbyshire, is the latest under-16 to take advantage of the free WLBSA scholarship scheme. The 14-year-old will be making her debut on the circuit.
Four other Derbyshire youngsters are also booked to appear. Ashbourne sisters Georgina, 15, and 14-year-old Charlotte Holloway will line up alongside Derby’s England internationals Hannah Jones, 12, and Joanne Davies, 15.
The WLBSA is hosting six ranking events this season culminating in the World Championships in April.
