People , dont you think that the ladies prize money is very little. Only 800pounds. Where as the men get 400,000pounds. I suppose the figures are not exact but nearly exact. But there is a huge difference , why is it so?

you're right Ranen, £400k was too much, it's £200k for the men this year, £250k previous couple. It's not professional, there's a lack of TV coverage, lack of big sponsors etc.... a great shame, but what women's sport gets any great coverage anyway? Whoever's putting up the prizes this year's not even got a mention either.Head Still... Follow Through... Keep it Tight... Never Give Up... Ton 'em if you can!

I feel sorry for the ladies in this sport. Chirta from India who won the Billiards Championship. Got only about 70,000 Rupees. Which would go for the travelling alone from India to England(to and fro). Where as in MEN's a person who makes the max break for the tournament gets more than the winner in ladies.
I have seen the Indian ladies playing snooker and billiards. I could beat them if they could give me a handicap of 20-25 points.
(PS: How did you get the pound symbol?)Who needs 'The Rocket' , When RaNeN is here!

If you can get a sponsor involved from India, then the tournament could be over there next year!
There was a poor attendance of spectators and competitors because of the low prize money.

The mixed doubles was won (as expected) by Mark Allen and Reanne Evans, who beat Matt Couch and Sonia Chapman 3-0 in the final. Reanne snookered herself on 96 in the final frame as well.
I'm sure the WLBSA website will have full results up in the next day or so.sigpic
