Nothing to do with getting involved with the politics in my case and I'm sure a lot of people have felt the same way I did: too disgusted to react. World Snooker has no excuse for such an attitude. A very bad decision. It really makes you wonder as Dantuck put it if they are not killing the sport from within.

While we're at it, people like Matt 2745 should also be able to get accreditation if desired for the work he does on his excellent blog. As a source of snooker news and reports it certainly puts worldsnooker to shame yet seems to co-exist with other snooker sites like this one and globalsnooker to the overall benefit of the game.

Thanks for that. I would say that I've never asked in fairness (I'm not a journalist, it's just a hobby), though it would seem from this thread that it is just as well.

Think you hit the nail on the head though, the problem with the World Snooker website for me is that in short it seems to solely promote the WSA and their events/interests, as opposed to snooker as a whole.

Now I do understand the argument that they have every right to do this as after all events like the Premier League and the World Series are run by independent promoters so it's not their role to report on their events. It's just unfortunate that as a fan of the game in general, they do not cover all professional snooker tournaments, WSA run or not to some extent.

Thank God for Global Snooker and various other sites though, that's exactly what they do. I try as well but there are only so many hours in the day unfortunately so there is only so much that I can do.

                World Snooker usual rubbish!

What frustrates me is not just their usual attitude to promoting the game its their general lack of proactiveness - if anything they should be actively seeking out sites likes this one and all the other snooker sites, blogs, leagues etc. to promote the game - you don`t have to be a marketing genius but isn`t this the target audience !!!!

its not about being a jerno or not Clive Everton is a jerno and they gagged him....

they are control freaks and dictators as jason said they cant handle what they got no control over it.

criticism should be embraced and work on to improve a failings but the WSA wants to ignore whats wrong and try and put out positives sorry but thats a one way ticket to oblivion they need to wake up and wake up soon.

I don't often post on here but I read this and find it absolutely incredible that people like Suzy and Neil can be refused accreditation for the reasons stated.

We have not applied for accrediation since the Worlds this year but will be interested to see what happens with the application for the UK....

Suzy, why not send some of your work to the SPA and to CE and David Hendon to show you have more credibility as a reporter than some of those who seem more interested in matters off the table.

The game needs all the publicity it can get right now.....

I for one will be contacting the WPBSA to ask them why our representative was denied a press pass and I would encourage all of you to do the same.
ADR can I ask if you got a reply from them at all and how you contacted world snook to complain about this?

Perhaps Ms Jardine or TSF should lodge a complaint with the Office of Fair Trading!

Whoever was responsible for that decision is very short sighted in my opinion!

From what i understand Suzy would be well within her rights to sue the WPBSA for restraint of trade, but based on what I know of her im sure she would rather they simply treated her fairly in the future and an apology for what happened.
If i was a member of the current WPBSA board i certianly wouldn't want this matter being brought up and made known to the players around the time when it looks likely there will be a vote of (no) confidence in chairman.

Surely the WPBSA (and other media outlets that cover snooker) would be better off working with an up and comming journalist's like suzy rather than denying her access as she obviously has a passion for the game and a talent for journalism.

                            Corrupt regime

THis makes me angry too. I really hope the real Barry H(earn) does get involved with running the WSA. I never liked the Thatcherite Romford Mafia in the 80s (they seemed like the bad guys then!), but compared to the current corrupt regime he'd be wonderful: Competent, likeable and with a sense of humour, all attributes sadly lacking at the moment.

Thanks for kicking this thread up again. I don't think the WBPSA understands much about promoting the sport generally, leave alone the internet. I guess they still think in terms of the web 0.1

Sure, there is a urgent need to reform the governing body not only in this respect. In any case, I hope our journalists/bloggers and the scene here keep on their great work thus putting on more pressure on the 'old men' to at least accredit them in the coming events.
