My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid
who's going with this girl who saw Rodney pass out a Pukka Pie to this little crippled orphan
standing out in the rain at Covent Gardens last night.
She couldn't see it but apparantly the yummy food put a smile on her face.

Little Blind Girl: Thank you, Sir Rodney
    Sir Rodney: No problem whatsoever.

I had expected Murphy to be different and to stand alone in support of Walker. But it seems even he wont do that.

What is the 'players forum' that Pinches refers to ?

Or maybe he was just "riding the wave" in that prosperous era.

These days, even a "Midas" such as himself couldn't prevent the PL prize money for the winner from having a cut of almost 50% from last year.

                          Barry Pinches:-

"There has been a feeling of apathy "

so much so that not one pro player has nominated any one to stand for the board at this AGM.

It's their company and it's their reponsibility to appoint the directors.

Why can they not be bothered?

I just asked Michael Holt this question'

Q- At present it seems that snooker could go down two paths, the first with upto 15 events per year this would mean 15 weeks of Qualifying and 15 weeks at competitions for many players and the other path is 6 to 8 events like present with 25 additional events every other weekend with prize money of around £25K for each comp, which one woudl you like to travel down?

A- Theres pro's and con's for both. But without seeing all the details for both I could not make a definite decision. All I can say is I'm a professional snooker player who wants to play snooker as much as possible, in the hope of earning a good living. I would probably go with the tour which gave more opportunity to earn more money.

                              Michael

I can tell you first hand that it is not an either or option, IMG will be delighted to work with Barry on taking this forward, this in effect give the best of both worlds as the 25 events will still form a part of the circut, and will be in place as additional ranking events are developed.

good point Paddy007 ... and could I also ask Ferret to ask Michael who he thinks is most likely to move this forward, Sir Rodney Walker or Barry Hearn particularly given there seems to be a flurry of activity promising (and I use that term advisedly) loads of things from Sir Rodney's office in the week before his re-election is due ... isn't that curious? Why didn't he announce them say six months ago or a year ago or whatever ...
