Cannot see anywhere the criteria for players to qualify for the QS - do we know what it will be or will they be "invited" players??

Even an amateur businessman would do some serious investigations about the market value of WSA before announcing a proposal like the one Mr. Hearn has.
Telling us he's "not interested" in that aspect is, to put it mildly, not a truthful answer.
So much for the openness and honesty.

I notice in one of his replies to 1lawyer, Mr Hearn has underlined the word 'Professional' in the WPBSA title yet chooses to ignore the word 'Billiards'.
Despite including professional billiard players on his mailing list with his plans for snooker he makes no mention regarding his plans for billiards. Does this mean we can expect billiards will be culled along with the many other cost saving measures Hearn has planned?

Barry mentions that for up and coming juniors with aspirations to turn pro, it would be the most important few weeks of their lives. Playing to get their tour card.Janie Watkins

If you follow the plans Barry proposes then he wants to take over WS, not wpbsa. So he would run the snooker from WS or a new company, so the billiards, ie one event a year would presumably still fall under the remit of wpbsa.Janie Watkins

This is awesome!
Your the man Barry! Here you are out in the public answering all the questions the fans like to know. I wish our association in Australia had a front man who understands social networking and marketing like yourself.
I have not been this excited about the future of Snooker in 15 years.
Cheers

Thanks Janie - listened to podcast and found it inspiring and I don't even play.
By the way - can somebody sort this forum out - I've posted a comment about the podcast & Barry Hearn's proposals on about 3 different threads and I keep getting lost in the "junk".
I am trying to find a reply to something by somebody (E-Mail alert) where they state WS should be run by an "International" group - that's a laugh!! Many years the IBSF and the EABSA cannot get one Tournament right - perhaps not the EABSA so much! By the time all the different Associations had agreed to disagree the season would be over. There was also a lot of other things I did not agree with - but can't find the post now!! HELP!!
Come back GSC Janie - your forum was always so well mannered!!

Just so painful watching Snooker committees or associations doing the same things year-after-year-after-year. Thy all keep waiting for some prince charming to come along..
PLEASE!!!! Be gone of the bow tie. .
Players should be playing in fashionable clothing, I want to see logos like, NIKE! adidas, Ecko, etc. The players can even then produce their own clothing line.
Get away from tradition, and more what will bring in the $$$$$$$..Cheers
