By the way - can somebody sort this forum out - I've posted a comment about the podcast & Barry Hearn's proposals on about 3 different threads and I keep getting lost in the "junk".
I am trying to find a reply to something by somebody (E-Mail alert) where they state WS should be run by an "International" group - that's a laugh!! Many years the IBSF and the EABSA cannot get one Tournament right - perhaps not the EABSA so much! By the time all the different Associations had agreed to disagree the season would be over. There was also a lot of other things I did not agree with - but can't find the post now!! HELP!!
Come back GSC Janie - your forum was always so well mannered!!
Well Ssb - barry hearn podcast in under SSB articles section (click "forum" on the top menu and you will see the sections). And this thread is under articles, I'd say in this case things are perfectly organised.

But yes, sometimes the same topic gets discussed in some 3 places at almost the same time, or new discussion on the same thing starts again after SSB/other news article is posted, whereas this topic has already been discussed in the thread started by a user in say 'snooker lounge' section... (e.g. Ronnie throwing China match topic recently). Merging those discussions would be the most sensible & practice thing in those cases.

For finding threads you can use thread search (also in the menu above), or you can simply look into your user account where you can see posts made by the user
Co-winner of Spike’s 2009 UK Championship number of centuries prediction contest.

    RIP Noel. RIP.

Overall think the proposals are very good and are needed to lift snooker out of its current decline. However I am worried that the financials of the deal may come back and be an issue of contention in the future! ie BH gets his 51% at an undervalue and then goes on to make large profits. If he does what he says he will then he will probably deserve it but the current owners of the game should get their own valuation done prior to agreeing any deal.

Re the prize money for maximums why not have part of the prize pool set aside for maximums therefore no need for insurance? If no 147 made then the 147 prize money rolls forward to the next tournament. If more than 147 is made then the prizemoney is split. Think there needs to be some incentive for making 147's. I would also consider havng a prize for most centuries in the season( bit like top goal scorer).

Eight events in our mainland, wow!

Generally I think his concept is worth an attempt. Also the open-mindness to discuss the plan in the public is something much better than the old administration'd never've done. I'm really looking forward to the new events:snooker:

Barry mentions that for up and coming juniors with aspirations to turn pro, it would be the most important few weeks of their lives. Playing to get their tour card.
Did I not read early on that the QS would be "invitational" with players having had to have achieved something in the season to warrant entry to QS? Has this now changed?

I think that was the World Open Val, not the QS.
