    VOTE DAVISON

What does the word guarantee mean then? If Davisons says he is guaranteeing these tournaments and prize money, surely that is what he will do. How otherwise could he get away with this? Once he speaks tomorrow to the players, i expect more will become clear.

As for bribery of the £5000 grand for the top 64 players, of course its a sweetener, but whats the problem with that. I remember not so long ago when one particular board started paying exclusive contracts to certain players to keep them on side. Some for up to 3 years i think. Various top 16 players were being given contracts, (classed as promotional work / load of toffee) of between £20 Grand and £100,000 per year.

If thats not a worse case scenario, i don't know what is. And Steve Davis was asked to sacrifice his last years payment of about £50 grand. Which he refused to do so. With all the cash he is worth, thats how much he was worried about snooker going broke.

At the end of the day, the players want whats right for them and whats in it for them. If Hearn does not get the vote and walks, then Davison cannot back up his plans, yes snooker will be back in dire, but it will survive until the next oportunist comes along. And maybe that might be even better.

I agree Madman, the doom and gloom brigade are over the top. However I think that JD would be daft to turn up tomorrow, because he doesn't need to do so, and he will not want to be involved in a free for all.

In any case that is not the business of the meeting and the agenda cannot be amended to accomodate any other discussion, apart from the resolution prevailing, which is just to vote on Hearn's bid for WSL.

Well I don't blame him for not answering you questions.

Once you started to use words like gummy bears in your questions he must have thought he was dealing with a teenager. Extremely unprofessional and biased.

Spot on, Ferret. I wonder where all these eager 2 1/2 Davison supporters come from
Ten reds and not a colour...

It would not be very professional for JD to be disclosing his t&c's on a public forum, before informing the voting members in tomorrows EGM. As to the questions Ferrett mentioned I would still expect said members to be stringently asking those and many more.

But Davison is *NOT* going to tomorrow's EGM, so the players and everyone else will still be largely in the dark about the detail of his proposals.

Yes I just read that thread and story, not good reading.
I wish the players good luck and fingers crossed whichever choice they make will be the correct one.

                    VOTE DAVISON

All the players have had the paperwork from Davison by all accounts, outlining his proposals. Any questions they wanted answering were answered by personal emails or telephone contact.

Thats the best way a professional works in the business. Keeps the people informed that matter, keeps everybody else guessing and gossiping, and will then inform joe public when the time is right. At the end of the day, this is business between the voting snooker players and Davison and his consortium.

As long as the people that matter have been well advised, thats all the matters.

So the thousands of amateurs don't matter then? That's a really great attitude isn't it!

To my knowledge there has been nothing made public as to how Davison's plans deal with promotion to and relegation from the pro ranks. As far as I am aware there has been absolutely no communication between him and the NGBs.

That really is not good enough.

No they have not been, the day the proposal was emailed to the players a top 32 player asked me to help him with some questions, I gave my advice and he emailed off the questions with NO reply. I have also spoken to another pro today who has not had a reply to a email sent out.

how many times???..the status quo will prevail until he gets the chance to make it better, hopefully bringing PIOS back.

                          Spot on again Madman!

No it isn't. He would inherit that which Barry has put in place. He would then face some lobbying to change some things back like PIOS. I know we will be doing that from Scotland anyway even after all of this blows over.

Why the hell does he need to be in touch with NGBs at this point in time?
