in this financial climate i would vote hearn - he has he experience and the contacts , is up front and honest and knows how to run sports successfully - in my view hearn guarantees a steady good growth which cannot be ignored whereas davison if successful yes promotes perhaps an even quicker growth but it is a bigger gamble than hearn in my opinion and one the players cannot afford to take

So the thousands of amateurs don't matter then? That's a really great attitude isn't it!
To my knowledge there has been nothing made public as to how Davison's plans deal with promotion to and relegation from the pro ranks. As far as I am aware there has been absolutely no communication between him and the NGBs.
That really is not good enough.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
As far as i am aware, Davison has said he is open to discussions on the Amateur circuit, and would put it to the players about keeping the pios or a challenge tour or something very similar. Thats good isnt it. I think thats a better plan than what Hearn has for the amateurs as he is making it much more difficult. As he stated, he only wants the best of the best and not mediocre players. I suppose he has a point there though.
At the end of the day, we all want routes for the amateurs to qualify for the main tour, the more the merrier i say. If Davison was not for this, i doubt he would have my support.

No they have not been, the day the proposal was emailed to the players a top 32 player asked me to help him with some questions, I gave my advice and he emailed off the questions with NO reply. I have also spoken to another pro today who has not had a reply to a email sent out.

Well, the ones i've spoken to have had emailed proposals, also by post, and any questions they had, answered by email.

I will be really cheesed off if Davison doesn't turn up. I think going by hearsay that he may of achieved enough votes to keep Hearn out. But he could of at least had the decency to attend the meeting anyway.
Though the players i hear have received Davisons proposals, it would of shown more spirit if he turned up in person and put them across personally. Now he's got me thinking, is this the sign of things to come if Hearn doesn't get voted in??? Just turning up and talking with the players would of giving him a few extra votes. Staying away with lame excuses, makes me wonder what he is actually up to. If he loses out to Hearn today, i think its purely for not turning up at the EGM and not showing the players any respect. I'm starting to wonder, if this is some sort of ploy now? ermmmmm!Last edited by madman; 2 June 2010, 10:29 AM.

I think that all the players had a hard choice to make (and I also think that they made the right choice!)
But it's true: the 29 Players who voted against the Hearn Plan must be won over again or snooker will be ripped in two parts. This is never good for a sport...
