THE SNOOKER PLAYERS' ASSOCIATION NEWSLETTER 17th September 2010

    Dear All

A brief note to let you know that we are progressing well and our web site will be up and running in the not too distant future.

We also wanted to advise you that it was brought to the attention of The Snooker Players’ Association by some of our members that the ranking system was not fair to all players.

We contacted Jason Ferguson, Chairman of the WPBSA, and brought this to his attention at the same time providing him with a report which we had commissioned by a professional person who is specially qualified in that field. The report we submitted provided a new and fairer system for all. We are over the moon to see that the WPBSA took our suggestions on board and have now implemented a new ranking system. The new system is very similar to the system detailed in the document we recommended and submitted to them.

Our members have informed us that they are pleased with the outcome and happy with the new system that the WPBSA have subsequently put in place.

Once our web site goes live we intend to include, amongst a great deal of other information and benefits, a central calendar of all professional and amateur tournaments. This calendar will not only cover tournaments in the UK but worldwide. This will ensure that in future there will be no clashes in tournaments dates. In order for this to be successful it is crucial that we have the support of the WPBSA and any other organisation intending to hold major tournaments. We have therefore written to Jason Ferguson to request his co-operation in this matter and will keep you posted on the outcome of our request.

Should you have any issues you would like us to take up on your behalf please do not hesitate to get in touch.

If you prefer to speak to me or any one of us in person you will usually find us in attendance at all professional tournaments.

    All the best .
