    Thank you so much.

So, it has been 29 years! Ding and Robertson were not even born then.:-)

hopefully he will be number 1 in the rankings by the end of the season although number 2 is more realistic
Thats a huge task isnt....I reckon Ronnie will be back with all guns firing (left and right!!)...i mean he only just lost to Higgins...has won abroad already this year....practised 6 hrs a day during the summer..(must be a first for him!!)..and of course his dad is out this season isnt he....id imagine that by having his dad by his side for the first time at tournaments...id be surprised if he doesnt set some more records this year...then throw Higgins into the mix too....the reamining ranking tournaments are gonna be hotter than ever!! That said...your dead right...massively impressive was Neil....fair play to him!!

I can vouch for that as we watched the Higgins Robbo match together... I didn't mind who won that match though at the time I had to support Higgins so we weren't supporting the same player

But, we also watched the Robbo Ding match and you didn't insist on support Ding!
                Glad Robbo won!

Glad to see Ding back on the way up, but I just don't find him as exciting to watch as Robbo or Higgins etc.

Have to agree with you there.

By the way, thanks Suzy really great article. I enjoyed reading it.

Robbo's certainly the most successful, but Eddie Charlton was also very good, and able to mix it with the best in his time. I could be wrong (I'm sure someone here can confirm or deny this) but I think Eddie starting playing professionally much later in his career, on the recommendation of either Fred or Joe Davis I believe.

If Eddie had started earlier and had similar opportunities, who knows? He was almost world snooker champ twice and world billiards champ once, so it's hard to say who was "better".

To be fair three World Championship finals and three Pot Black Cups isn't exactly unsuccessful is it? Pot Black was a major in those days - it was the one they all wanted after the WC.

I didn't know he'd won the pot black 3 times. He was a great player and I loved reading his book on how to play snooker when I was starting out.

I think Neil will have more chances to put the "most successful" question beyond doubt, if he hasn't already.
