  • Master let down to usual routine

In all yesterday was a great success for the marketing guru that is Barry Hearn with over 1,200 packing the auditorium for the Jimmy White v Mark King match earning World Snooker an estimated £8,000 more than they would of got for Mark King V Liang Wenbo, the surprise was the Marco Fu V Peter Ebdon match which was played in the prime spot of the day, you would of thought for TV ratings Mark Selby V Ding Junhui game would of been played in this spot.

The crowds expectations were great for the Jimmy game but to no avail, after his defeat Jimmy was very disappointed and put it al down to having a bad day. Will this be the last major tournament we will see Jimmy at? emmmmm maybe but with Jimmy you never know.

On to today and I don't think there will be any shockers here, I have Mark J Williams and Shaun Murphy tipped for the next round and its a 50/50 for the Maguire / King match. Pictures to follow shortly.

And how exactly did they come to that estimation?

Who are they exactly? they are my words!

Its simple mathematics, usual number who turn up for a first round match subtracted from how many turned up for Jimmy's game multiplied by the ticket price.

This IS unusual at the Masters.

Do you know how many people turned up for the other matches on Sunday exactly?

Oh... I thought it was some sort of official quote from WS or something.

Anyway, all matches have been pretty well attended so far, so I'm sure King-Liang would have got a decent crowd.
