I hadn't heard of players swapping back, would be good to hear their reasons why.
on another note, do they shorten your cue when they fit it? Apparently a titanium ferrule has a thinner wall so would it rattle about on the tenon cut for a brass ferrule , meaning they would have to start again so to speak.

If it’s done properly you won’t lose anything ,funny I asked Dave Coots about this last night ,you can sleeve or build up the area where the ferule goes on and you can use the same size titanium ferule as a brass one ,it’s these century ferules that are half the size but you can get them longer or have a custom one made so your cue remains pretty much to size .I belive it was Tom Ford that had a titanium (not 100%it was him ) fitted then removed shortly after ,he lost quite a bit off his cue ,obviously not done correctly it would seem .

It's a fad, the weight difference between titanium and brass for such a small item is negligible. Some people will buy into anything trying for a quick fix, tip end mass is a US pool snake oil remedy for those who can't find a five inch wide pocket from three feet away.
Speak up, you've got to speak up against the madness, you've got speak your mind if you dare
but don't try to get yourself elected, for if you do you'll have to cut your hair

lol ,I tend to agree ,a new fancy ferule won’t stop people missing shots and poor cueing

Ronnie is forever saying that he was at his best when he was 15/16 years old. Well at that age he had a few years of growing left in him so his standard length cue was longer then in relation to his height, as he's grown he's had to adapt his cue action due to it becoming relatively shorter. I reckon a 59/60 inch cue would suit him perfectly and put him back where he was as a teenager, longer bridge to ball and cue arm slightly behind the vertical at address, then that inconsistant elbow drop wouldn't be an issue. Can't see that a titanium ferrule would do that for him but maybe his new cue is longer, who knows, would be nice to find out.

Never understood the ghost ball, it's hard enough focussing on the actual object ball, making an imaginary one doesn't make sense to me (of course i get the theory).
Ghost ball for me is another quick fix method for players looking to cut corners, the real practice is repetition repetition repetition!

I give this example now and again, I used to have a torrid time of missing pinks into the right middle until I went down the club and spent 30 minutes potting pinks into the right middle. It's now one of my most reliable pots.
