btw ,
when you move your chin up and down , are you absolutely sure you keep your body
(especially your right shoulder- elbow and your head ) still ??
No SIDEWARDE Movements at all ??
you may wanna take a look at this video . watch his body when he moves his chin up and down
and listen to what he says .
Anyway , keep an eye on this topic. i'm sure you get more opinions/advice from members and i hope
you get sorted out at the end and enjoy the game .
i lined up a long blue lined up straight with cueball and cue and then tried moving my head side to side, i realized that if i change from my normal chin position which is centre to right chin and left chin, i cannot see much difference maybe becaz i am so used to centre chin. however i also looked at the cueball too and when i normally use my centre chin, my eyes think that i am putting left hand side while the tip is dead centre, and if i use left chin then my eyes tell me that i am putting even more left side. but when i used right chin then a centre looks centre to me. but as i said the object ball looks the same in all chin positions, maybe because i am so used to bad habbits.
Now atleast i know why i was compensating and putting right hand side on cue ball unintentionally when i was using my centre chin. because normally when i use centre chin a dead centre does look abit of left hand side to me and that is why unintentionally i put right hand side which makes me think i am aiming centre cueball now which in reality its wrong
i also found one thing else. instead of using my right chin which helps to see a dead centre centre, if i tilt my head to the left which brings my right eye over the cue then i no longer need to use my right chin, bcaz as i tilt my head to the left the centre chin comes online to the cue , but it hurts alot.
so i think i have 2 options, either to tilt to left and use centre chin or use my right chin
Please correct me, if i am doing something wrong here based on what i found in practice
thanks huge

I've the same problem with , Jack Daniels, my friend .
each time after drinking a bottle,
everything seems just ........ Feels like i'm heading same direction all over the place all the time .
up ,down , left , right ,, makes no difference , at all .
On the other hand ,, there are many players (among them couple
of pros like Neil Robertson,, Anthony McGill , Ronni , ) turning their heads or putting the cue onder the right chin ,
in orde to get that cue-eye line up correctly.
S , if it works for you , than do it . why not !!!

let me share what i have been doing wrong all these years and what recently i have changed. i have been always putting right hand side on the cue ball but i always knew i had to change my chin position, and i have always used centre chin.
_
but because i was not lining up my shots properly and my butt of the cue was always to the right , thats why i never knew if right chin or left chin would look better than centre chin. so its been a week since i now lineup looking at the cueball and walkin and get down while as before i was just looking at the object ball while standing and getting down.
_
now that i know my lineup is perfect, when i get down and use my normal centre chin position and aim in the centre of cueball my eyes tells me that i am putting left hand side which is not true, and this is why i unintentionally move my tip to the right becaz my eyes will think now that is the centre of the cueball which is not in reality.
_
so right now, if i put the cue tip dead centre on cueball and use my centre chin then my eyes tells me that this is not centre and wants me to put right hand side to make it centre.
but if i put my left chin on the cue my eyes tells me that i am putting even more left side on the cueball
but if i put my right chin on the cue then a centre cueball almost looks centre.
however i also found another options instead of putting my right chin on the cue if i just tilt my head to the left then a real centre cuball will look a real centre and i can still use my centre chin bcaz by tilting my head my right eye comes over the cue. but tilting my head to the left really hurts

why does the centre cueball does not look centre cueball when i use my centre chin or left chin, but a real centre will look centre when i tilt my head to the left or use my right chin?
which option should i go for? should i tilt my head to left and use centre chin or just play with my centre chin?
thank you

To be honest with you,
i think you have sum kinda burning desire to mess up with your mindset and head .
do'nt get me wrong , you have every bit of right to ask anything you want here and getting ama
advice as you want . But at the end , this is your game, brother .
believe it or not ,
i've seen players running century breaks and they cue across the CB , 9/10 times .
sometimes following your natural instincts is the best option.
snooker is not a easy game and requires lots of practice.
if you do something and it help you improve your game in a consistent way ,
than you should keep doing it . And the only one who can answer that , is
the amount of hours you put in and practice time , not me !!
so , please take this into consideration. and give it a try ? !!

If you’ve knocked in 80,s and century’s before ,no matter how infrequent Your probably just having a bad time at the moment .I’ve played this game for years ,it’s a hard game most of the time ,other times you can’t miss .Tbh I don’t care how I’m standing or sighting down the cue ,I just play the shot ,I practice long blues and following the cue ball in to the middle pockets and the screwing the white back into the opposite middle ,if most of those work out your not doing much wrong ,i gave up on this alignment and sighting stuff years ago .

Look up and focus on the contact point of the object ball, bring the cue back slowly and deliver it while still focussing on the contact point of the object ball.
.
this is how i am currently playing
i point my cue tip towards cueball while standing, and while looking at the cueball i put my right leg, then as i am about or as i plant my left leg i look at the object ball and get down.
then i do a front pause to make sure things looks online, but this is where things dont look online to me, although the feet, the cue, the head nothing has moved while walking in. but things never look online once i am down. but if i only just lift my head abit alittle bit to lose chin contact with the cue then things look good.
only if things look online, this is how i proceed next, i do feature , and switch my eyes between cueball and object balls, then i make sure i am aiming at the right spot on cueball and i slowly pull the cue back and switch my eyes on object ball and a slight back pause and follow through
now! where is the part the you said i never listen to you???
thank you

None of us have seen you play or are coaches so it’s all a bit pointless and a shot in the dark ,just keep playing those long practice shots to see which side your missing on ,it will come or if doesn’t and your not enjoying it give it up or take a break from the game .

My friend ,
you did ask me ; what should i do?
which option should i go for?
I can't possibly look through your eyes and tell you in what position the cue
feels right for you .
Hopefully someone else can .
So, i would say , keep an eye on this topic . you never know.
lightning can strike !!
