IMO, the new Batman is the best representation of the comic I've seen and the film vehicle is as valid a medium as any other, and it'd be a sad place if we couldn't talk about other things as well as snooker; computers, for example!

They should be fun, not serious. Its a fantasy comic book, the joker was dropped in a vat of toxic waste or something. Not just a mental patient who got his hands on some face paint. The new ones are good FILMS but bad batman films... Remember the hulk film a few years back when they turned the hulk into a gentic experiment gone wrong? Ok admittedly batman is a much better class of film, but they did a similar thing. Tried to make it a serious story, and get rid of the fantasy.

well, making such utterly realistic costums and environments for the movie sets nowadays, it would appear just rediculous if Batman would talk like a teenager and joker, a demented murderer would make funny faces and laugh all the time. This is the best batman ever. Yes, it's story is based on a comic book, but it's a FILM, and this one wasn't made for children. It all depends what age group of viewers the director had in mind.

But if you wanted a movie for children then yea the director def went wrong

I'd just like to add that making films is just as art just like writing comic books. The film director has to recreate the story the way he sees it, whether you like it or not. That's the whole point of the "out of the box" way of thinking.

The other name of The Batman is The Dark Knight, which is pretty much self-explanatory; The Batman is a boy who saw his parents murdered in front of his eyes and swore to stop crime! He dresses up as a bat, a sort of elemental force that strikes fear into the hearts of all criminals. He is a psychopath who doesn't kill. If he hadn't sworn to defend the citizens of Gotham and stop crime and do it as a sort of holy mission, then he'd be in an asylum!! Batman is NOT fun! He's scary, driven and affronts homicidal maniacs who want to massacre him! This is not for kids! This is The Batman!

The new films are perfect, they are a return to the real Batman and not the sort of rubbish presented by George Clooney!!

Rant over, Rob! Sorry, but I've been a Batman fan since about 1975 and it's something I feel strongly about! In fact, if you asked me to choose between Batman and Cocobolo, then I'd be in deep ****!

But theres nothing wrong with batman in tights. Hes the dark comic hero... Batman can be dark and disturbing but the bad guys shud have an element of fun. i mean look at the enemies, the riddler, joker, when batman was first created it was obviously not ment to be a serious thing. I have nothing against the new films, but jack nicholson was a much better joker.
