  • cue goes to left when delivered

    Hi
I have been playing for awhile now but not improving at all since my cue tip goes to left when i strike. tried sqare and boxing stance but its the same.

i walk into the line of shot, keep head locked, and get down while the cue is online and i bring down my chest to the cue

but when i deliver the cue tip goes to left , but most of the time that causes to put right hand side, although the cue tip goes to the left but most of the time i see right hand side on cueball or spotted white

my elbow is slight out like mark william, not that much but alittle
    --------
and one more thing that i really want to know if it might be causing the issue is that my bridge arm is always bend, that is how i am used to. not sure if this is why the cue goes to left. because someone told me that the straighter the bridge arm the eblow moves behind head, but not sure if this could be the reason of the tip going to left

    Your tips are very valuable
    please share your knowledge
    thank you

forgot to mention that when i pull the cue back , i pull towards my body
could this be causing the cue tip to go left once delivered?

hi, I'll be interested in any replies to this as I have a similar issue. My cue goes slightly left to right, and even though it is after I strike the cue ball I still think there are times when I am putting on slight side / spin, making me miss to the left. Increased when I am playing with more power. I have been focused recently on relaxing my cue arm and concentrating on a slow straight backswing and then smooth accelerated shot and follow through. Early days. Hope we get some advice

I'm no expert. So take what I say with a pinch of salt.

I have (had) the same issue, I still do, and I genuinely think it is down to stance and sighting.

Something i've found that seems to help temporarily at least is to stick a cue ball on the baulk line and just play centre ball up and down the line over and over for a good 10 minutes. You'll hopefully find yourself compensating for the cue ball running off line and correct it. At the very least you'll have the opportunity to make some changes to stance etc.

Play the ball slow to start with and build up speed. Always centre ball striking.

G'luck dude and know you ain't alone, striking across the ball is a PITA!

I have had the exact same issue, then solved it.

It seems your stance is too square as a result you absolutely can't deliver the cue on the line,, follow the steps \

-Rotate your chest/torso which will bring in the arm, and you will get more cue on the chest and your right arm will swing around to the middle of you head.
-Have someone to take a pic, front view you should see your right arm elbow and your head and your cue all in one line.
-Bend your bridge arm as if not, it will hurt your shoulder over the time.
-Watch your grip, shouldn't be too tight nor loose, as this point will be the most important after you correct all the issues.

After this you will monitor pro players and you will see how they twist thier torso, Stephen Hendry and Steve davis did that too.
you may experience shoulder and back pain, but after sometime you will get use to it.

          Good luck

Forgot to mentionthis , when you rotate your chest I really mean it to kind of exaggerate the rotation until left and right shoulders and cue and elbow all be in straight line.

Test it on baulk line until you hit hard and u should deliver it on the line.
Check some videos of Gary Wilson , he is perfect example to learn it.
