  • Cue ball jumping

Just noticed this today, sometimes when I strike the ball, the cue ball does a small little hop off the table. Is that normal?

    Yes.
If you see slo-mo videos of snooker balls, in nearly every type of shot the cue ball and object ball will come off the cloth; usually though it is barely perceptible.

Here's hoping a coach will come on and explain what could be going on with your cue delivery

I think because I tend to over hit the ball a lot since Iā€™m really out of form these days, I just feel no flow in my delivery and some times it gets jabby

        Could well be
One tip I got some years ago was when about to deliver the cue was to imagine the cue ball was NOT there and to (imagine) hit the aim point on the back of the object ball with the tip of your cue; two-fold gain is a smoother delivery and straighter delivery of cue. May work for you

Might be cueing down on the cue ball a bit, ask someone to look if your cue is parallel when you strike or take a bit of video of yourself.
