I was practicing yesterday to test my alignment. I started with white on the brown spot and shooting up along the spots. I also placed red balls on either side of the blue and black spots for good measure. I was quite pleased with the results as the white almost always came back to hit my cue. So almost dead straight cueing.
Next I tried long straight pots with the white on the green spot and the red 40 cm from the opposite corner. I consistently missed hitting, the object ball on the left side about 3/4 ball.
I can't for the life of me understand why my sighting is off on object balls but not when playing over the spots. Strange thing is that if I sighted the long pot to the corner pocket instead of the object ball it was as good as straight (not perfect but a lot better).
Anyone alse had this problem or an explanation shy my sighting is off on object balls but not "over the spots". Any tips to correct it?
