  • some advice/tips needed

    hi everyone,

just need some help hopefully. i can practice playing snooker as much as i like and whenever i like.

now the problem is, i dont seem to get any feeling out of practice. no satisfaction or anything.

i dont even feel like i get going and feel like im hitting completely across the ball. and sometimes it just feels like i have no urge to practice and i feel like im not getting any better.

now when im playing against someone its a completely different story because i absolutely love competitve snooker and love the game. i may start sloppy or whatever, but once i get going, i have a real feel for it and hit breaks.

however i know without practice, i wont improve how i want to and without enjoyment, how can i practice?

i do line ups and all sorts. spread out the balls. do line ups but in a cross shape and many others.

if theres anything out there that you feel can help me, then please do contribute it and i will be most grateful.

    many thanks,
    nicholas

I think the most important thing is that you enjoy it, if you play well and hate it you may stop playing and never return. Try finding a practice partner and playing matches or finding local comps because by the sound of it that is what makes you happy. I play better when I'm enjoying it and I hope you stick with it and enjoy your snooker again.

thanks. yeah i enjoy the game. i enjoy it a hell of a lot. even when palying badly. its just the practice. i find it boring.

and lack of practice partners who can do the same time as me. i end up in the club watching snooker more than playing. or reading cuesports magazine lol.

london isnt too great for comps etc which is a real shame

Firstly let me tell you that this 19 year old can pot a ball. As ive said in another thread I had the pleasure of playing just the 1 frame against you on Friday and from what I saw and throughout the night your cueing was spot on. Just try to play with a bit more confidence and enjoy your practice and set yourself targets and do as I did..write them down on pen and paper to really see your progress.
Always play snooker with a smile on your face...You never know when you'll pot your last ball.
