  • Line-up

Ok, reading through alot of threads, from past to present.

Have been coming across this phrase "Line-ups".

May I ask, what exactly is "Line-ups"? I understand it's some sort of a drill, but how does it work, and how does it look like to start off with?

How is it supposed to improve our play?

Sorry if I sound stupid, but I am looking to further improve my game. Hope you guys may give me some ideas. Thanks!

Here is something about line-up: http://www.snookergames.co.uk/practise.html

Line-up is a common practice routine. It's suppossed to improve your cue ball control.

its a good routine and i still practise using the line-up every time i go to play. I find it helpful in helping my game, especially when it comes to playing stun shots, little screw shots and improving your positional play when close in amongst the balls..

On the line up. Do you reset the balls if you've missed?

                    Bad ball!

I make them go and sit in the corner facing the yellow pocket.
They cannot join the lineup in play until the next session and only if they promise to roll straight in without a struggle or lip!

Other people have mentioned clearing the colours and then potting the black and getting position on the yellow to start over again.

I've seen this and tried it, though I personally don't like it because I believe the tradishional line up gives you more varied shots you will use in a match but thats just my opinion.

Do you bring them back in line? I try and do the same, but often, the angles don't really help.
