  • Posture: How low should our body be?

Hi, this is one a question with regards to the posture of playing. How low should we bend at the table to achieve the best cue action? I have read about stance, head, elbow, bridge and etc. Help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

No set way, some players that bend at the knee are different for example. My stance is set square on to the shot with the legs wide apart enough to keep solid on the shot, my body is weighted falling slightly forward into the table which also helps me keep solid on the shot. My lead foot aims down the line of the shot which is just a particular habit of mine.

    Don't know if this helps.

As low to the table as your belly/breasts allow?

The lowness on the shot isnt related to cue action at all IMO. Its all about sighting. If you could see directly along the top of the cue, rather than a foot above it where your eyes are due to the distance between chin and eyes with the head upright, you could see the line of many shots perfectly and also exactly where the cue is striking the white. You could play like a machine.

If my memory serves me correctly players like Carter and Walden dont have their head upright and they seem to be able to get their face very low down on the cue so they are virtually looking right down the shot. You cant get any lower down than that.
