  • Stance: Position of feet

Hello. The standard/textbook stance says that the right leg (right handed) should be straight and in line with the shot while the left leg must be slightly bent. I have no problem with these. It's just the position with both feet. Should the right foot (right handed) be pointing directly in line with the shot or slightly outwards (say 45 degress), while leaving the left foot straight at the direction of the shot? Or vice-versa? Thanks...

Right foot DIRECTLY in line with the line of shot for a right hander. Left foot bent and depending on comfort in line with the shot or pointing 45 degrees to the left isnt a major problem.

But aren't we supposed to twist (if i used the term correctly) our body a little to be aligned to the shot? By angling my right foot a little to the right, I find that i'm able to do so more comfortably. Is there anything wrong if I play this way?

The textbook way is to be straight-on with your leading foot depending on whether your left/right handed as well as your torso. Your whole body should be facing straight down the line of the shot. Thats textbook however there are many pros who play different to this rule and many will argue that so long as you deliver the cue in a straight line it doesnt really matter. Comfort is a key word.
