Your cue held out horizontal. The red part is your finger. It should balance somewhere around the 17" mark.

That, my friend, can be arranged... speak to Mike or Trev.

Which reminds me... have you ever wondered what Ronnie's or Stephen's cues would look like if they notched all their victories on their cues, the same way gunslingers in the Old West immortalized their victims on their gun barrels?

I ain't got enough dough to waste making a cue that is a ruler/scale

Ronnie changes his cue so often it shouldn't get too bad and Stephen's Accuerate can't look worse if I go by what ADR147 had to say about Accuerate's quality

            hi mate

i had the same problem at first...... used a crappy light cue (lacquered finish) and bought a heavier cue with a natural wood finish

went on for months thinking it was too heavy and not right for ME... but after time i stuck with it and it paid dividends big time..... just stick with it mate and dont think too much about it..... work on your form (grip, feet and stance even timing and cue action)

            good luck

I've always wondered how is timing practiced? I can understand how other aspects of form are trained but timing has never "opened up" to me. As far as I know, timing means that the cue should hit the ball at maximum acceleration every time. How is that practised?

I think I'll stick with it for now. I think I have bigger issues in my game than the cue. :P

Thank you all for your help!

That's a good question. The best player I've ever known said that timing can't be coached, but then he was making century breaks at the age of 12.

The coaches here might have something else to say but my guess is that if you develop a very consistent stance and action your timing will improve as a natural result.

Timing is the instant judment of your feelings.Nice when you have it naturally, the most of us mortals have to gain it by practise.

with regards to practicing timing its just something you feel, i felt that i pulled of a shot with perfect timing on wednesday..... and i could really feel the shot so to speak

but it eluded me through out my practice session....... you just know it when you strike a shot clean, its just about consistency..... easier said than done tho

We don't feel the same time we play and a lot of feel can still be aplied(or changed) during the stroke. When you're on a high it's easy to hit the ball to well but as you said it's about consistency and thats where you need your memory and piece of mind.:snooker:

Problem solved: my friend wanted to buy the cue. I got a good deal with him. Now I'll get peace of mind by buying a lighter cue. Then it's all me and never the cue

If someone has a nice handmade cue for sale, please contact me at 41shots19 (at) gmail.com.

Looking for a 58", 9,5 mm tip (about), 3/4 split, 30 mm butt (about), 17 oz(!) cue. Price range 150-200£. Can I get a second hand Trevor White or Wooldridge with 200£? Nothing too fancy.
