It'll need to be super easy to remove/replace!
You need your binocular vision to judge the angles and distances.
You have to learn to 'turn on' the dominant eye while aiming and playing the actual stroke.
It's a bit like learning to waggle your ears.

        different view of eye dominance

hi i just want put my opinion into the pot about eye dominance
i have played pool all my long life 37 years, and i am not a bad player and have read about eye dominance in many books.started playing snooker 3 years ago have had 69 break and want to improve.i am right eye dominant and my right eye is of poor vision but i hold the cue smack in the middle(i believe) and not under my right eye. so does my brain slightly adjust for ever shot ie if i am right eyed and cueing middle of chin am i not aiming wrong.hope someone understands what i mean

I've no idea and I'm probably cross-eyed for life.

Do you play the cue under the middle of your chin?

It wouldn't really make a differance then. Dont worry. Just looks more professional

If you want to know if your right or left eye dominant, put your two hands together an make like a gun pointing, then point to an object on the wall(like a light switch) with both eyes open, then close right eye, then open both, then close left eye and then open both. The object will remain in the same position with dominant eye and object will move to the side with the weaker eye. A trick I learned during firearm instruction.

I actaully play the cue under my left eye now and it's much better to play doing it.

Help ( A bit long winded, I know! Sorry)

                          Hi, I'm new here.

I've been playing snooker for ages. Started when I was 13, I think played on until I was 20. At this time I was making breaks regularly over 50, best break at that time was and still is 86.

Scince then I moved from York, GB to Munich, Germany. Stopped playing for 13 years (at the time it was difficult to find a table here). I've been playing again for 2 years now!

                          Now my question!

I was able to pot nearly everything and anything when I was 20, if I cocked up it was because of poor postional play. Now I have problems you wouldn't believe. Some days everything works fine I go to the table and Bobs your uncle the balls are just rolling in. Then all of a sudden for no known reason I can't pot the easiest of pots. I,ve tried concentrating on my stance, Bridge, Cueing action and Concentration, with little success. Now I'm here.

Sighting: I've tried the little trick of pointing at something and then registering wich eye is dominant.

Problem 1) can you all point at an object and still see your finger(s) clearly?
or do they get slightly blurred. (I can only focus on the one or the other)

                          2) Are your finger(s) always pointing directly at the object everytime? (Mine seems to wander slightly)

                          3) If you are all having the same problems or know of them, how do you cure them?

P.S. I'm still getting breaks of 30+ on a regular basis, sometimes i even get into the 60's. But there's something wrong and I would like to get to the bottom of it! You all know the feeling, everything is fine, you go down on the shot and then get the feeling, "hey somethings wrong" and it dosen't matter what you do it stays that way! So you're standing there getting up and down like an idiot knowing its gonna stay that way. So start geussing is it right or not?

                            You're messing with my head!
I've been having trouble latley throwing shots over to the left over and over again.
All my basics are right its just my sighting.
I knew my eye was my left eye but at the mo my hair is quite long and goes over my left eye a bit I wonder if this is causing me to use my other eye more. I think this because when I try to do the point test I have trouble too were as before I remember it being easy!

                              Hi!
What can I do... I see badly and will get soon glasses... can I become snooker pro even though that ? Or do any pros are bad sighted?

And how do I have to move my chin over the cue when it is (I`m not that sure...) a bit right eye dominant? Just try it or need a coach? (Coaching I would need never the less!! Had it just once...)
