When coaching, it's much better to have the student 'discover' for himself which is the right answer to a problem, rather than have the coach 'spoon feeding' everything as then the retention and learning is far less.

This thing you had with different line of aim with the cue when applying screw is something you should have worked out for yourself as it's PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE to pot the green centre-pocket both times when you use a different line of aim for one of the shots (unless there's side involved).

So, what I'm telling you is there are just some things you should be working out for yourself.

Perhaps I'm a little peed off right now as on TheSnookerGym I just received a private message appeal from a student asking me to teach him how to pull his arm back straight on the backswing. There are just some things a student has to do himself. I told him to get a mirror for some feedback and also to shut his eyes and concentrate on pulling back and delivering straight.

What else could I say? I get a lot of really silly questions from students and it makes me angry when it's obvious the student could have worked it out by themselves with a little thought.
