  • 17yrs and only had a 68 why?

i play in our top division the super league
My team consist of two of our top players in the town ,1 very good player and me .
They ask me to join wen one of there team dropped out i agreed.
Thing is i know i struggle and wen i win frames its always against brilliant players the ones at my level i lose too.
My team mate has taken a coaching course and now im having lessons (free) lol.
At 33 yrs old is it too late?
All i can say is that i came home from snooker in the first week and actually cried my eyes out becuz of my poor play never done that b4 ever, but i am a stubborn git i dont wanna give up .I know it cud be hard if not impossible to get a century but if once i cud get an 80 i wud be buzzing.
i love snooker and wanna be good .
i played 4 seasons about 160 frames and never once hit a break over 30, if ya get over 30 ya get in the localpaper, it cant be in my head cuz i play billiards and on many occasion get in the paper ?

i have improved my stance , shortened my action as i was literally throwing myself at the ball, and try to cue the same every shot its werkin but not so much in ,matchplay .

any ideas on how to get in the zone , to be fair the 2nd week i literally blew my oppononent away no big breaks but in 2 frames had 4 20+ breaks including two colour clearances(green too black): . it was like i was in my own world but why cant i get that feelin all the time lads ?:snooker:

It takes time. Same for everyone. Just try to enjoy the game and not feel bad just becasue you do not have a 30 break.

HI if you want to improve your game you have to practice i would suggest you get a good coach and he will tell you wants wrong with your stroke. It takes years befrore you can make 50 breaks and over also you are still young and you could become a good player cheers Leonard from Canada

Could it be break building your needing to work on?

Sounds like your putting too much pressure on yourself. Like poolqjunkie points out, just try and enjoy the game for what it is and you may find that you will play better..

Nerves, simple as. I struggle myself. I usualy find that when i'm nervous i'm not cuing the ball well, moving on the shot or snatching. Could be the same thing.
