the simplest yet most effective advice i've ever heard is 'let the cue do the work'. recently i was struggling to get screw back on mid-length pots and i incorporated this 'motto' into my shots, and it helped so much.

Yeah exactly just let the cue do its work and people shouldn't have a problem getting screwback

Hi there, new member here, I've never had a problem screwing the ball, just always been able to do it since I started playing snooker, I just adjust my bridge hand which works well in making sure you hit the bottom of the ball. The problem I really have is break building I lose concentration too quickly, some frames I'll be potting a lot of balls then the next missing easy pots, any tips?

Go back to the basic of break building, which s the CueBall control itself. Here is one of them:- Clear the colours off their spots 3 consecutive rounds in just 1 visit. This routine will taught you patient and concentration.

I'm sure other member will give their opinions here as well.

              Cheers.

                Re: Screwing Back

                Hi

I used to struggle at this. But now I am better and more consistent at it. My best tip is:

DON'T hit it hard, just follow through as much as possible.

You might want to try this exercise:
                http://www.snookergames.co.uk/tuition10.html

It is a great excersize for screwing back. Keep practising following through and you WILL get better and more consistent!

That exercise with the spider is a very good idea for people that are raising the cue as they strike the white.
