  • Snooker Books written by Professional players

Does anyone know of any good Snooker books written by any of the Professional players that covers practice, drills, technique etc?

I've started playing again after a long break, but other than the line up and playing frames I'm not doing anything else.

I prefer to use sources like books as generally they are solid with proven player history. If a Pro is giving advice, its usually right!

Anyone think this is a good one?

It's not written by a professional, I don't think... But I've got "Just One Frame" by David Jenner after reading many positive comments on it.

It is well worth a punt and on Amazon it is available used for ~£15: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-lis...&condition=all

Somebody in "For sale" is selling one in "new" condition though, so maybe you'd be able to find some arrangement there instead?

              http://www.thesnookerforum.com/board...ead.php?t=9846

              Good luck!

EDIT: Just noticed that the person selling it in "For sale" listed it in 2007! That sub-forum is acting very weirdly for me and not showing in date order. Probably better to ignore that!

EDIT 2: Available on the official site for £25. Link: http://www.justoneframe.co.uk/

Frank Callan's Snooker Clinic. It's not written by a pro, but the book is held in very high regard and i have found it to be the best book i have ever read on drills, tehnique etc..

Afternoon jrc. Yes as far as i know there is only one version of the book. I have found the same thing when looking on Amazon at Frank's book. Certainly does vary in price that's for sure.

How are you finding the book?

Hi Spike, good so far, but i like to read one bit then go and actually play, then read a bit more etc, so may take a while to get thro it. Then ill read one last time and some may sink in more. One thing my mate said the other day to me was - i never seem to play any shots at all in the centre of the white ! - always some kind of spin on them - funny how i never realised i was doing it - maybe why hb so far is 44 - going out soon for a few hours on my own to see what happens using plain ball cueing only

thanks to all, I have plenty to look into now!

I'll see which one works for me as I'm just getting 20's and 30's at the moment with one break of 49 last week. After 2 years away from the game though I feel like I've got to start all over again. So time to learn some new tricks!
