    As RGC says, don't worry about it. I think it's just a convention and I don't follow it myself.

    Also, it's not in any coaching documentation that I've seen as it's just not worth it

      Thanks for that Terry. I will keep my grip as it is for the mo and try out some different positions in a week or so.

        Hold the cue as grasp the handle of an empty suitcase, standing in the middle of the room and wondering, where would it - idiot to shove. Do not stronger. Thumb and index fingers of a hand holding the cue - the key players imperious ringed capture cue, the other fingers has a supporting role, completely exempted from work during the backswing to the kick. When the fingers of a hand holding the cue, allows parallel to the table, to avoid parasitic "mass".
