You could try to knock the white from the brown spot up to the top cushion and back to your cue (effectively running over all the spots). When you can do this repetetively at low speed, try hitting the white a bit harder each time.
Alternatively you could place the white in the middle of the baulk cushion (touching the cushion) and from there try to pot the white in all 6 pockets at different speeds.
If you try these methods and cannot do either repetetively it may be an idea to have a couple of lessons to see why you are putting side on the white.

j4m13pl4tt Have got exactly the same problem. Has developed over the last year or so. Driving me mad. Got some tips from Barry Stark of snooker academy but I'm still struggling. Interested in what others suggest.

I have the problem and it was the main reasom why i quit the game five years ago .

Mine was cuased by me twisting my wrist inward and putting unwanted right hand side on .

Up and down the spots is good but this was,nt foolproof for me as i could hit the white up and down the spots straight as a dye , it was only when i struck an object ball that my wrist turned .

So thats another aspect to think about .

If you find the answer then please tell me

Actuall i was thinking about trying a gravity cue or the pro trainer cue .

I think the gravity cue was developed with this problem in mind.

Its easy to tell if your twisting your wrist .

If you have an ash cue with chevrons running on top then look where they are when feathering and again when the cue is in the finish position after the shot , usually the wrist against the chest .

If you use a maple cue then draw a line with white chalk on top of the cue

The inventor of both products comes on here from time to time , i think his name is Neil , to answer question members have about them .

Next time he,s on i,ll ask him which problem is best suitable for this problem .

                        Lol, mate.
A couple of years ago (when I was playing golf regularly) I had to have a small operation on both wrists. My wrists were both heavily bandaged but I played golf. It worked wonders for my swing - but hurt like hell on heavy shots!

Ok so you want to deliver the cue straight.
                            I will leave a few tips .
                            (1) Try sighting the pocket from behind the object ball first as if you are addressing the cue ball. (see three segments )
                            (2) Keep your eyes fixed on the contact point and your head square as you move from behind object ball to behind cue ball
                            (3) Sight along the cue with right or left eye paralell to your center of gravity.
                            Hope these tips help.

                              .
I think this is a really common cause of not cueing straight.
Somebody on here a few weeks ago recommended that you have your little finger of your grip hand sticking out so that it's inline with your grip hand forearm, and pointing at the floor. keep it pointing at the floor and you won't twist your wrist.
I've tried it and it works (the hard part is to remember to do it)
The other thing that you could try to alleviate this is to use a ridiculously light grip, just as a diagnostic tool to prove that it really is the tightening of your grip thats' causing the fault.
Just be careful not to do the Fatima Whitbread thing...
