    Does the shoulder drop or just the elbow? Only the elbow is no problem but dropping the shoulder could be a problem. Work on keeping the right shoulder (if you are right handed) up as far as possible throughout the stroke.

    The easiest way to achieve this (and correct technique also) is to get the bridge arm armpit down as far as you comfortably can, which has the effect of raising the right shoulder and keeping it there throughout the stroke.

    You also might find straightening the bridge arm a bit will also help keep the right shoulder stable.

    Dropping the right elbow is considered good form and in fact is taught as the 'ideal' for new students. Not absolutely necessary, but it helps with the follow-through and gives the player more power options with less quick acceleration.

        All I will say is that the cue not finishing in the chin has nothing to do with dropping your elbow. Your head is raising just before impact.

          now the max only i can get 2+, but then i'm satisfy with my posture, the only thing that make me upset is i couldn't stick the cue on chin after i shoot...
          which i think this is the problem that causes inconsistency, cause i always miss very very very easy shoots..... especially the cue ball and object ball is straight to the pocket, and the distance is like only 1 ft...
          If you miss straight shots then you're likely adding un-intentional side spin to the cue ball. This will cause a minor amount of throw which will cause you to miss straight pots.

          I am still working on getting my cueing as straight as possible and what I tend to find is that I am more consistent on soft shots, but as soon as I hit harder or add bottom/top spin I end up adding side.

          There are a couple of reasons for this;
          1. when I hit harder I am probably moving my head, shoulder, or body.
          2. the cue ball is narrower at the top and bottom, and curves more sharply left and right, so even a small amount of off center striking will have more effect than hitting the wider vertical-center of the ball.

          You may be having some of the same problems.

          The way I test my cueing is;
          1. play the cue ball from the brown spot up the table through the blue, pink and black, off the cushion and back again. The white should ideally return to the cue tip within a ball width or two. The closer the better. Start slow.
          2. place a red on the blue spot and pot straight across the table with top spin. The white should follow the red into the pocket. Start with a short distance between white and red and increase the distance as you get more confident. You can start with center striking and move on to using top.

          I recently bought the aramith training ball with the 2 patterns on it. For both of the above tests I line it up in the position for practicing cue ball striking with the patterns lined up centrally in the direction of roll. That way when I hit it, if I hit with no side spin it will roll down the table with no wobble in the pattern, any side spin and the pattern gets all messed up.

            1) Grip - looks ok. A view from back/front can help show any other problems with this aspect.
            2) Head Movement - the head is moving on the delivery shoot but it looks like you are tensing the shoulder just before the delivery shoot and this is raising the shoulder which in turn is raising the head.
            3) Cue Action - nice clean feathering and good delivery but due to the tensing in the shoulder for the delivery shoot which may be putting the shoot off but cannot see that from the side view in the video. Maybe do a video from the back/front. This will show if the shoulder tension puts off the delivery shoot.

            Personally I do not have my chin on the cue, I wear spectacles and I cannot bend my neck that far :-)
            But what I do is get as close to the cue as possible and do not move from the first going down to position to just after the delivery shoot is complete.
            Hope this helps.

              ccfook:

              This is a very short video and it would be a lot more valuable to have a shot from directly behind the cue as then I can see if you are cueing straight or not. I cannot determine this from the side shot and especially with just one quick shot with poor lighting.

              Your head isn't moving much but it is moving up a bit which will normally cause unwanted left-hand side. Your backswing and rear pause and delivery look pretty good but again I cannot tell what you are doing as I cannot see the line of the cue.

              Your cue off your chin at the end of the delivery is not a big worry and it is not the cause of you missing easy shots. It is likely your set-up or else approach to the shot as the rest of your mechanics look OK

                  sometimes i really feel frustrated, because i cannot win my opponent who never spent much time on snooker....

                  i know if i cannot win their luck factor, that mean my skill is not good, but still, i feel upset, i spend so much time, and have much more information then them, but i just cant apply them when i play......

                  the feeling is like, when you do something so hard in hope to get some rewards, but you fail to get anything......i believe some people have this kind of feeling too?

                  i will record a video of myself playing when i got time...

                      There's absolutely nothing wrong with your technique that I spotted in that very short video. Your cue stays level and straight throughout the backswing and delivery and the head stayed still this time.

                      There is no reason, except one, that you shouldn't be running centuries with your technique. The one exception is practice and experience.

                      Also, perhaps you have a different technique when you are actually playing a match...some problem caused by tension or lack of attention. Your technique is good enough that you can rely on it but you need tons of practice to get it grooved and you have to get to a point where you actually believe in your technique and that belief will give you confidence in both matches and practice.

                        From this video, all looks fine and I concur with Terry's comments.
                        From your first posting about 'chin on the cue' I would forget this as it does not appear to be affecting you position, action, etc. But it could become an issue if you try too hard to keep you chin on the cue on and after the delivery shot, to the detriment of the rest of your action. I would say forget it and move on.
                        All the best
