Jim Meadowcroft in Rossendale is still coaching locally and I think now plays in "The elite snooker club" in Great Harwood.

He's a nice fella and helped me iron a few things out with my game, I'm not sure on what he'll charge though.

There's a few local to you, Chris Lovell in Accrington....I think, Paul Rinaldi in Padiham, at the Padiham snooker center.

Or you could go to see Del Hill at the snooker farm, if you're not worried about the cost.

I charge £15 an hour. However, the travelling time from Southampton might be a tad excessive!

question is how good do you want to get .

do you want to Reach Pro Level... Amateur Level.....Club Level or just improve for a game with Mates ?

for me unless theres cash at the end of your ambition just work on things yourself i dont see the point paying for lessons unless the Ambition is high enough.

I once asked Martin Gould how much he charges, I think he said around £18 pounds per hour. It migt be worth having a look around somewhere to see if you can find him.

Even if you just wanted to improve your game with your mates I would have thought that was false economy - working on things yourself. After all, most of us pay around £5 per hour for table time.
You could practise 4 times a week for three hours at a cost of £60 per week (assuming it's solo practice) and never improve if there's something wrong with your game.
All of a sudden, £20 per hour for outside advice sounds pretty cheap.
Though personally I've never got round to paying for lessons so please excuse the screaming hypocrisy.
