You need to find a grip which will stabilize your wrist. Here's one or two solutions to your problem.

The first is to move the cue butt more into the finger tips which in turn will force the back of the hand out and up and will lock the wrist in one position. If you want to see this style look at Steve Davis' grip in his prime in the 80's as he used this type of grip (he might still do, haven't looked lately).

The other method is to use your shaft arrows or chevrons to check. Cue up with the chevrons straight up and complete a power delivery and see if they are still straight up. If they are then you are not turning the writs but it they are then you are turning the wrist and most likely applying unintentional side to the cueball.

The second method to cue this is to complete a fast and powerful delivery and stop at the end of it and take a look at your grip and how you are holding the cue at the end of the delivery. Then change your normal grip to be exactly the same as this when you are in the address position with the forearm hanging straight down.

      hi terry,
i must say millions of thank you to you
i did not try to play the cue ball along the baulk line for quite sometime already, and surprisingly, i couldn't make it like last time..
and then i tried to grip my cue closer to my finger tips to force the back of my hand out, wow, i can do it again....
and now my potting is more consistent...
      thank you again
