  • Bridge arm shaking during certain shots

    Hello all,

On some shots, in particular when i play cushions shots where my bridge hand is on the rail of table, i feel my bridge arm is shaking, not sure why, anyone experience like this before, or i am getting old?

    Thanks for the help.

    Too much Guiness maybe?

Anyway, the only reason I can think of is you are putting too much tension on the arm. The first rule of snooker is the set-up must be comfortable for the player so loosen up on the arm.

The only other reason I can think of is you are putting too much of your weight on the bridge arm and this doesn't show up when your hand is on the table but does show up when you're bridging on the cushion rail.

Weight should be about 45-45-10% with the 10% being the bridge forearm and the 45% both feet

Try tensing and then relaxing the arm a few times if the shaking occurs, until it stops. It can be a nerve being pressed upon and this helps release it. It should help you to find the correct tension for your comfort too.
