I have also experimented with stance to allow more clearance for my cue.
(right-hander)
The way I do it is to place my right foot slightly to the left of the line of aim, then fall into my natural stance. I then find myself leaning over to the right slightly more than normal, which keeps my body/legs out of the line of the line of the cue.
This works well, as if I am lazy in my stance I sometimes can't get the cue through straight at all. Due to my body position.
Hope this helps someone.
Cheers =D
