  • which ball to look at?

    Hi All
When ready to strike the cue ball are you looking at the object ball or the cue ball?

I am having this problem if the cue ball is too far from the object ball, i cannot see my object ball (for direction) if i look at the cue ball.

When i look at my object ball i cannot strike the cue ball in the right direction i want(because i am not lookin at it).

but if the distance is close and i can see both balls i can pot very well.

    please help thank you

        pyragon:

The correct answer has been given, the Object Ball.

HOWEVER, you have a much more serious problem from what you describe and that is you must be either moving on the shot or else adjusting your aim while you are down on the shot.

        This is a definite NO-NO.

You do ALL your aiming while you are standing behind the shot and then when you step into the shot you drop your head (nose) straight down until you are in the address position and then start your feathering. Do NOT make any aiming adjustments throughout the feathering, backsing and delivery and you cannot fail to be on the correct line of aim.

If you are delivering the cue straight then you should pot the ball.

          Hi Terry

You are right i do adjust my aim when i am down on the shot due to confidence. i make adjustments to confirm that i have got the right angle and now after seeing your comment i will follow on to strike the ball without adjustments so that i can learn to find the right angle on address.

          thank you
